We had a visit from the famous 60’s singer Barry Lee of The Brothers Lee and Barry & The Planets to entertain our residents on Thursday afternoon. He sang a range of songs from the 50’s 60’s 70’s & 80’s to the delight of everyone singing along to the hits. As a local man from Aylsham, back when he and The Brothers Lee were touring together 50 years ago, they were known as ‘The Beatles of Norfolk’. Our residents thoroughly enjoyed his singing as did the staff and residents families that popped in to say hello. Everyone enjoyed him so much that we have booked him again on September 16th for a music event here at Broadland View, tickets will be on sale in the near future and once again on December 22nd, just in time for Christmas.
We had residents and staff alike singing along with Barry and we even had a few up dancing the afternoon away! Barry in-between songs continued to entertain his audience with his witty humour and one-liners and he proved to be a class act!
Bringing in outside entertainment we feel is important in making sure we provide our residents with not only continuity within activities such as arts & crafts club but it is just as important to have some variation in the weekly schedule to keep things fresh and exciting!
